Impact of women in the
workplace
The impact of women in the workplace is profound, driving positive change and contributing to a more inclusive, innovative, and successful work environment.
The issues that women face in their daily jobs are the source of their worries. Managers are not providing adequate support to women, especially women of colour. Less than half of women say they receive assistance from their managers in advancing in their careers or overcoming obstacles at work, despite the fact that managers are crucial to women's everyday work experiences and career advancement (Alexis K., Emily F., Lareina Y. & Megan M., Hannah S., 2024).

In conclusion, women's leadership, creativity, and commitment are unquestionably influencing the workplace. By acknowledging and appreciating the contributions made by women in the workplace, we can help our organizations reach their full potential and create a better future for everybody. Let's keep encouraging and empowering women to assume leadership positions, spur innovation, and influence the workplace of the future.
In Sri Lanka, we can see women increasingly shaping leadership roles. For example, the 16th Prime Minister of Sri Lanka was a woman, and leaders such as Dr. Harini Amarasuriya demonstrate the growing influence of women in politics. In the government sector, many departments are headed by women, and in the private sector, women hold key positions such as chairpersons and members of top management teams. Furthermore, many company boards of directors now include several women, highlighting their expanding role in leadership across various fields.
Not only in Sri Lanka, but also in other countries for example, in India we can understand the situation of women in the workplace. The YouTube video below provides an example of this.
