Introduction

Attracting top talent is a major problem for Organization in today's competitive job market. A key tactic to set the company apart and attract new hires is employer branding. It can develop a strong employer brand that appeals to job searchers by highlighting the company's culture, values, and mission. An employer brand should portray an organization as a potential employer for a competitive advantage and brand is important in creating a successful product or service (Love L.F. &, Singh P., 2011).

Powerful combination of employer branding & recruitment

Together, employer branding and recruitment form an effective strategy that draws in, engages, and keeps the best personnel. People's perceptions of a firm are shaped by its employer branding, which describes the culture, values, and experience of working there.

The process of identifying and employing the most qualified candidates to match that narrative is known as recruitment. Combining these two factors makes the hiring process go more smoothly and efficiently because the company's brand and reputation already motivate candidates.

Employer branding and recruitment work together to provide a strong basis for long-term organizational success. This combination not only enhances the quality of hiring but also increases employee engagement and loyalty. Employer branding has a positive impact on a firm because it displays and recognizes the link between commitment, retention, performance, satisfaction and attraction.

Employer brand helps organization perform better in HR recruitment, retention and engagement by allowing them to stand out from the competition.

According to Wilden R.M., Gudergan S. & Lings, (2010) “Employer branding in the context of recruitment is the package of psychological, economic and functional benefits that potential employees associate with employment with a particular company”.

Organizations that invest in employer branding not only successfully document their processes and earn competitive edge in attracting staff, but they also gain a competitive advantage in other important economic areas.

Discussion

In Sri Lanka, a lot of modern companies are already combining employer branding with successful recruitment methods. For example, MAS Holdings, one of the country’s leading apparel manufacturers, has made significant investments to highlight its dedication to innovation, sustainability, and worker welfare through digital marketing campaigns and community service projects. Because of its positive employer brand, MAS is able to draw in driven individuals who have similar values, which lowers turnover and enhances recruitment results overall (MAS HOLDINGS, 2024). In Sri Lanka's changing business environment, the combination of employer branding and recruitment not only guarantees that companies attract top talent but also cultivates enduring employee loyalty, which is essential for long-term growth.

  11. As someone working in hospitality, I see every day how employer branding shapes recruitment outcomes. In hotels, our brand isn’t just about guest experience—it’s about how we treat our staff. When we highlight values like respect, career growth, and service excellence, we naturally attract people who share those ideals. Recruitment then becomes less about filling vacancies and more about building a team that feels proud to represent the hotel. Employer branding and recruitment together create a culture where employees stay engaged, deliver exceptional service, and become ambassadors of the brand
